   Not a problem for me, I just ordered one to see what the quality was like, I was at West Ft Hood around the 2nd Armor Div, saw lots of those particular tanks.

Perfect replication is not necessary with my layouts.  Big Rail thanks for posting the information for me to acquire the US Army Tank Car form my US Army SF Train.

Hmmm somewhere in China a box of Panzer 1 tank turrets are sitting unopened... next to the US M41-a chassis... destined to be found next year and released... thus if you buy the second release of these things, you could fix the problem.

Yes....we have 3 rails and O-27 curves......a odd tank should be OK.

And the fact a big retailer is doing things like this no other since maybe JC Penny did some locos etc.  It's a positive for the hobby. And folks that want correct tanks read my post where you can get them for under $5 and add to your flat cars.

go amcdave!   I was thinking the exact thing.  Yes the turret and body seem a mis-match. Maybe Menards has a Patton (Patent) on this style?

By the way where did you get that Walker Bulldog tank?  It looks pretty nice.  Was that a kit?

As a Model Railroader, I am please that MENARDS is bringing our Hobby to people that would never step foot in a Hobby Shop.

     For the Hobby to grow, we need some main stream stores supporting the Hobby.

When I was a kid a lot of Hardware Stores & Major Department Stores had large Lionel Layouts. In Detroit, it was Hudson Department Store, with large Lionel Layouts.

You can play the "3 Rail" & "O-27" cards all you want, it is still a goofy looking tank.

With lights and sounds, I'm sure kids will like them.

If it had of been in "HESS" paint, I might have bit on this one.

When I was a kid a lot of Hardware Stores & Major Department Stores had large Lionel Layouts. In Detroit, it was Hudson Department Store, with large Lionel Layouts.

That is neat, and inexpensive, and I agree kids will love it.  But it looks to be closer to 1:64 than 1:48 scale.  The price sure beats what scale armor costs though, and the LED and gun sounds will be a hit with grandkids, for sure!

Ordered mine yesterday and it is due to arrive tomorrow.

The tracks and the tank body look like a M551 Sheridan Tank which was used in Vietnam.

The turret is definitely a M41 Walker Bulldog. I think the reason the cannon looks so large is they had to put in electronics or at least wires to light the red light at the top of the barrel. At that low price of $24.99 it is a good buy for traditional sized modelers but I suspect scale modelers will stay away. I do like the wheel chocks wonder if those could be purchased some where?

Yes, but the road wheels  definitely are laid out the way German tanks had theirs.

Definitely not the way U.S. tanks had their wheels configured.

I have a 1:32 scale kit, my Dad built. He was a Captain in the 3rd Herd. 

He personally commanded this type of tank in the late 50's. It was a medium duty tank.

I think thats why this looks odd. 

A medium duty tank turret on a Heavy tank chassis... plus it looks contorted and out of scale.

Well I agree the kids will love it, it should put on a great show.

Yeah, Hudson's!!!  At the time it was the world's largest department store.  I remember our family's holiday pilgrimages to Detroit.  The 12th floor was kid heaven!

It's good that Menard's is doing this.  They have a cool O gauge wooden barn on their web site now too.

Ouch.....shipping to Midlothian (Richmond) VA is $10.26......40% to send it.....I will pass!

LOL, folks are flaming a fantasy tank but think the Polar Express is the neatest thing since apple pie. They are all toy trains including the $2000 Big Boy, have another cup of coffee.

I ordered 4 yesterday from the email.   They certainly are fantasy models, but I have always admired the military trains displayed on this forum, so here is my chance to get a small train for $100 bucks.   Sounds will be a bonus.

Perhaps Menards will release a version with an American chassis and a German turret, and we can mix and match components.

Well, at least the Polar Express looks All-American. Join the pot and throw your "Toy Train" card on top of the "3 rail" & "O-27" cards.

When we set out to build a flatcar with a tank on it, we looked at several models of the US Army's M1A1 Abrams. Unfortunately they have been around for many years now and looked a bit old fashioned. What, we wondered, will the next generation of US Army tanks look like?

To find out, we sent our Secret Agent, Double R07 searching. After months of reserach, he discovered that there was indeed a new model coming out. Reportedly our President himself, with his vast military background, laid out the basic specifications. He wanted it to look good, sound good, but deliver little actual value.

Reportedly, in a secret factory on the south side of Chicago, known as Area 52, the famous Italian designer Balonia was recruited to do the design. The results were spectacular and we ask you to behold not the M1A1 Abrams, but rather the M2B2 Balonia.

It is assembled out of 100% Chinese parts (allegedly paid for with money borrowed from the Chinese) and is so dangerous that our government has reportedly declared it is not to be used by children under the age of 8.

It also possess secret alien technology, reverse engineered from a crashed UFO, and you can access it by pushing a hidden button on the top of the turret.

I like the humorous explanation they provided for what kind of tank it is. 

I am buying one just for the explanation on the box, look good at the office.

Since I already have 9 scale Sherman Tanks on Flat cars I'll pass, but I do like the explanation.

Shipping to NJ is $10.77 plus a $2.80 processing fee (I HATE those!), bringing the total to $38.56.  For that reason, I am out.
