I want to thank all the 1st Responders as well as Veterans on the forum that have helped protected us and fought for our freedom.  May we never forget this day, 9/11, for the sacrifice for 1st Responders made.

I am very glad that Norfolk Southern had these SD60e’s painted to honor 1st responders and veterans.   I also appreciate for Lionel and MTH for offering models of these engines.  These are very beautifully done engines, but let them always be reminder to us all of the sacrifice that 1st responders give each day to protect us and what our veterans have given up to protect our freedom.  From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you again to 1st responders and veterans.  Ken

Staggering to think 9/11 was already 14 years ago.  Watching various anniversary video clips is very surreal.  Nobody in their right mind would have ever thought lunatics would use commercial airliners with innocent citizens aboard as weapons of destruction.   The evil that 9/11 represented was a shock to our civilized culture, and we will never forget those who lost their lives -- nor those who responded with an unprecedented level of care and support.

It's nice to see our little corner of the world offer a small remembrance to those who sacrificed so much.

I was in first period religion class (High School) when we were first notified of the attacks.  Still remember it like it was yesterday.  Hard to believe 14 years has passed.

The new Freedom Tower is beautiful, and a marvel of modern engineering, but I, like many, still miss seeing those two giant towers.....reaching towards the heavens.

Ken, very nice tribute bud!

I was at my old firehouse this morning for a Memorial Service for the 5 men they lost. I knew them all and worked with 3 of them. I lost many friends that day in the FDNY. Tonight I'm on the North Shore of Staten Island for another Memorial service over looking NY Harbor and the City. We will see the twin beams of light. May they Rest in Peace

Crews, First Responders and Civilians: You will never be forgotten

Flight Attendant Sandra Bradshaw was from a hometown family and we are reminded of her service and her family's loss often.

I periodically remember with sadness the flight crews and all of the flight victims as well as the first responders in NYC and at the Pentagon.

Once again I am reminded that freedom isn't free.
