Picked this Lionel 124 Standard gauge station several months ago at the Edison NJ gain show from a TCA booth for $20.00. The station looked like someone started to bring it back to live as the base and structure were painted ( they did a good job). The roof had some of the original paint and was dented and missing the chimneys. The hanging sign along with the two train schedule were missing. I picked repro parts at the same show. The Chimneys were painted with a texture paint. The roof paint was stripped off and most of the dents were removed. The trim on the roof was painted with a copper paint then masked and the rest of the roof was painted green. I think it came out OK😊

Hi Rich, I basically did a slight twist. The chimney is stepped to match the shingles on the roof. I inserted the chimney into the slots then grabbed the end of the tab with a stub Jose needle nose as I applied tension to the tab (to make the chimney seat better) then did a slight twist. The chimneys are really secure and there is no play in them. If I would of folded the tabs, I do not think t would of been as secure. 😊👍

The widow glass was put in when I purchased the station. As I said it was sold at a TCA booth and I paid $20 for it. The roof was chipped and dented with the original paint. I stripped the pant, banged out the dents and repainted the roof trim with a copper paint the masked and spray it green😊
