Shades of the old Weaver EMD E8 metal "FARR" grilles bowing out! Both probably due to different temperature expansion/contraction rates of plastics and metals (then why don't they ALL do it....?).

I'd suggest removing it altogether, flattening tenderly with fingers where needed, then re-attach using CA rather than the factory mounting posts. You may even need to remove these.

Maybe someone has a simpler way.

D500,  I remember my Weaver E8 doing that. Had an Atlas 50 footer that did it also.  While I’m sure the above repairs will all work. I’m going to suggest a different path. I’m sure walkways were upgraded at times from wood to steel. Atlas does sell parts. You can even scratch build with styrene.  I have got wooden walkways from them. Nicely detailed with different length boards and details. It would involve re drilling for their mounting posts and plugging up or trimming off yours.
