In a past issue, someone built a IC sidedoor Caboose, I saw a photo of it on the internet and would like to chat with the builder.

Those were fun to ride in. I have photo's of this same IC caboose, along with the former GM&O transfer caboose in Vandalia, IL. I've thought I'd like to kitbash one of these in O gauge, soon. I'll be watching, this thread, I'd like to see the caboose that Bill is referring to, and maybe see how the guy went about building it.
Rockyroad,
Here is the prototype for that caboose. I sure would like to have one. Was an outside braced boxcar used used to build it?
Thanks,

To: Richard Gonzales Thats a close to prototype, you friend did a good job. I wish I had been a member when you were doing the build.. I'm still learning how to use the forum. I would be proud to run that on any layout.
Between 1940 and 1972 when they were retired, the sidedoors, went through many mod's.
Please esq the general post reply... I'm still working on how to reply to each post

Why you all are on this subject; do you all know what the purpose of that "side door" was?

So the train crew could grab the orders without having to stand on the platforms. BTW, the side door caboose was outlawed in Iowa. IC had some cabooses for the Iowa Division without the side doors.
