The Korber kit bash is finally done. Since I am adding this to my product line there are no signs - will let customer decide. This project started out as a small Korber kit in which the cornices were cut off and the upper wood second and third floor stories scratched built.

Looks great Joe! Keep up the good work!
Very interesting for the commercial/industrial side of town.
Yep - purposely designed it not as a track side structure.
i really like your structure. Keep up your good work.
Very nice as always Joe! What did you use to paint the wood siding? Is that acrylic drybrushed or how did you attain the look?
I was way off base on the paint - went back to notes I made:
"The basic wood superstructure was painted using Rust-Oleum Satin Fossil . Edge details were painted with Rust-Oleum Dark Brown. Once the paint dried I used Micro Mark Railroad Tie and Bridge stain - gray/ brown to darken the color.
The Korber structure was painted with Rust-Oleum Flat Brown then oversprayed with Rust-Oleum Flat Red to give a mottled appearance. Krylon Satin River Rock was sprayed over the stone base."
I did forget to lightly sand after the steel brush which is why you see some 'dark' spots.
Thanks Joe. I've become a big fan of rattle can painting as even I can't screw it up too much. Brushing on the India ink is probably the extra detail that gives the wood a better scale look.
Joe, Do you seal it all with clear satin spray at the end to protect the paint like you've suggested for brick?
