I had a question come up at a club meet about running an LC+ B unit by itself. We wanted to know if the B Unit (that is intended to work with matching A units) can be run by itself? In the feature list it does state that these B units support conventional mode operation but do they still receive commands from the corresponding A unit?

Good question. I would think on conventional mode it would work. Unless the Bluetooth board is still somehow still in play is becomes upset when the slave board doesn’t see its master (the corresponding A unit). I know that they will not work by themselves in a LC remote or Bluetooth environment because it requires the master to get all its information.
I have a pre-Bluetooth B unit (6-82302) Sante Fe FT set. Runs by itself using the supplied remote. It does not need the A unit to run.
