The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) volunteer Officers and Board of Directors are in Boston in preparation for our 45th Annual Convention to be held at the Double Tree Hotel in Danvers MA July 20-25.  Last night the LCCA members were invited to Marty Fitzhenry's home to run trains on his amazing centenary system layout.   Here are a few photos taken last evening.  The LCCA's Switching Tracks Traveling Boxcar made a special guest appearance on this great layout.   LCCA members Chris Lonero and Marty Visnick were there welcoming LCCA BOD members to Boston.  Thank you Marty and Dotty  for your hospitality and friendship.

Later in the evening, we also visited with Marty Visnick and saw his awesome collection of rare Standard Gage, o-gauge, prewar, post war, Ives, display layouts American flyer, OO gauge and 2" 7/8 trains.

The  LCCA is planning to have open house Special Event  for our members to enjoy at Marty F and Marty V's home on Sunday July 19, 2015.  Stay tuned for additional details.     It was a fun evening running Lionel trains with great people on a fantastic layout!

Thank you Dotty, Marty F., Chris Lonero and Marty V for your hospitality and hosting such fun evening!

Our LCCA members are going to LOVE going to Marty's on July 19, 2015.  I can't wait to see it again as a LCCA Speciall event just prior to the LCCA's 45th Annual Convention to be held July 20-25 at the Double Tree Hotel in Danvers MA.

Al, Thanks for posting all that went on in the Boston area this weekend!    Yes, the Switching Tracks car was fun to have at my layout a few weeks ago, even though the only railfans who saw it were me and the little people waiting on the New Aberdeen station platform for the O gauge train to pull the car in.

No, the little people were not wearing green, they would be wearing plaid at New Aberdeen.  The folks at the other end of my line in Antrim wore their green!    Closest thing to a green smiley for a day before Saint Patrick's day.

Mark,

why don't you post some photos of the LCCA Switching Tracks Traveling Boxcar here.  I think people will enjoy seeing your layout.

I can personally say I was there when Boston set a new record for an annual snowfall.  I was supposed to fly out of Boston on Sunday afternoon.  Three inches of snow delayed my flight for several hours while we sat on the Tarmac.  Boston Logan airport is where they measure and record the amount of snowfall.  I was there when  the new record was set!

Al, How can I refuse such a request.  Some folks may have seen my photos on another topic on this forum, but it is amazing how one can look at the OGR Forum at some point almost every day, and miss some wonderful things.  (Personal experience)

This layout was just started after Christmas in our recently married daughter's old bedroom.  I would prefer a backdrop to conceal the windows and furnishings, but that can come later.  Here is a LionChief Plus Pennsy Mikado pulling Switching Tracks Car #5.  I have the first set of photos I will try to add later, but don't have ready access to them on the iPad.  Those photos show the folks waiting at the station much better, and an MTH Hudson is pulling that train.

Here are some of my earlier photos of Car #5 in Butler, Pennsylvania.  I think these are better.  The iPhone 4 took better photos than the digital camera I picked up at a yard sale I am learning.  Outdoors, the yard sale camera does a fine job.  Anyway, here they are by popular demand, as voted in by Al.  His devotion to the LCCA makes it a unanimous vote. ;-)  I was glad to see all the fine folks from the forum on various posts of all the action in Boston area this past weekend!
