Here are the notes I took at the LCCA Lionel Seminar today (7-19).  Please add or correct anything I may have left out or misinterpreted.

Statements from Howard Hitchcock that Lionel wants better control of its inventory.  Lionel will start to “build to order”.   More operations are or will be moved to North Caroline.  Even Mike Reagan’s and the repair operation.

Mike Reagan was very brief because he had to catch a cab to the airport.  His comment about moving closer to the main operation, “Be careful what you wish for”.

I do not lave the latest signature catalog with me, so I cannot distinguished what is currently in the catalog and what was a new announcement.

I talked to Mike Reagan Wednesday night.  He moved to NC about three weeks ago.  As I understand the repair operations will remain in Ohio.  Phil Hull is now head of service.  Mike was promoted to head of product development.  Their is a podcast from notch6.com that has an interview with Mike and it probably goes in to more detail about his new position at Lionel.

Neal Jeter

To eliminate/clarify any speculation and confusion:

Mike's new title is Director of Production and Customer Service.

As such, he is intimately involved in both aspects of the operation, and I personally can't think of anyone more well qualified to handle the dual role.

We do, however, greatly miss him already up here in Ohio!  Nevertheless, he's now located where he can do the best for Lionel and its customers.  He will be back up in Yankee territory for the Lionel Service Center Open House next month.
