Our good friend Alan Arnold and his wife Lakeeta are the subject of a wonderful front page story article about his wonderful layout. Congratulations my good friend Alan, you continue to do great things for our hobby. The link to the article is below:  When it comes up, you can either flip through the pages by clicking at the bottom corner of each page where they are curled up, or you can click on the arrow to the left and right of the page numbers at the top.  If you go to the cover page, you will see the cover shot.

Thanks Brian for the recognition...and thanks to the rest of you guys for the nice comments.  The Living Well magazine is a publication that is regional in nature and is published throughout the country.  Depending on where you live, the issue will have a local flavor.  I was so surprised when I was approached in October by the features Editor and the award winning USA Today photographer to do the story.  I was equally surprised by their ability to put it together so quickly.  I and my wife are very honored...

Thanks,

Alan

I am one of the privileged ones to have seen Alan's fabulous layout first hand. But what is even better is the wonderful friendships Alan and his lovely wife Lakeeta have made with many of us who have gotten to know them well. They are terrific ambassadors to the hobby of O-Gauge trains.

Well done my good friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Living Well could not have picked a better couple to bring their theme to life than Alan and LaKeeta Arnold.  They have a totally unique home and a stunning layout. While Alan's layout has a number of impressive features (granary, refinery, turntable, roundhouse, station, train shed, bridge, monorail) his cityscape featuring large skyscrapers is exceptional. Many of us have had the opportuniy to visit Alan and LaKeeta, an opportunity that is not to be missed when Alan extends an invitation as he frequently does. Alan and LaKeeta will be gracious hosts and wonderful friends.

Alan,  Fabulous layout and city scenes.  Thanks for sharing.

I was inspired to purchase a Disney station for my own layout from one of your earlier forum posts.  Now I need to build some skyscrapers for my city after seeing this article.

I hope that you will consider writing an OGR article about your layout and perhaps an OGR video someday.

I was also wondering where do you keep all of your empty train boxes?

Happy Holidays,  Joe

Congratulations, Alan, on a very nice article.  While I've seen many of your photos here on the Forum, it's especially interesting to see some shots offering a large, panaoramic view.  Makes it all the more impressive.

Interesting personal note...just as I turned to page 8 and looked at the photo of the large cityscape, with the subway trains in the foreground, Billy Joel's New York State of Mind came over the sound system!  Purely coincidental, but hearing those opening piano notes while looking at subways and skyscrapers made for a great moment!
