Let me guess... The dummy A unit's shell doesn't have the TMCC antenna, right?

Since they're plastic shells, the TMCC antenna can't be a big deal.

I know Harry Henning has the A-B-A set, but I doubt he's willing to sell a shell.

thanks, John... I'm going to just order the Dummy A shell from NLT, and hope that it has the antenna and lights (which it must since the B has TMCC as well for the smoke unit).

If it all works out, I'll probably end up selling or trading my MTH sharks...

Hard to believe it can't be made to fit.  I wouldn't worry about the antenna, I'd be curious if the lights have the same wiring in the shell as the powered A unit, that would be one thing I'd like to know.

I can ask Harry on Sunday what the difference is between the powered and dummy shells and if the connections are the same for the lighting.

That would be great!
