My freshman year, Siena was all male; my sophomore year Siena went co-ed. World of difference! And it made the beer taste better, too!

So close to Saint Patrick's Day, got to include one for the Irish.

All very attractive and interesting beer cars, some showing beers I've never heard of, which are good to find out about.

My interest is focused on the classic beers that existed in the 1950s, such as Ballantine. Schaeffer, Schlitz and Anheiser Busch. I've previous posted numerous photos of my Atlas Ballantine Beer reefer, and my MTH or Lionel Anheiser Busch reefer. As I mentioned yesterday on another thread, I just ordered  Atlas Schaeffer and Schlitz reefers.

I would also like a good quality Rheingold reefer.

These classic beer cars fit in nicely with my baseball in the 1950s theme of my layout. Arnold

Absolutely love that car - can you share any info on who/when it was produced??? My family ran Connelly’s Abbey in downtown Brooklyn in the first part of the 20th century (it was a speakeasy during Prohibition, but don’t tell that to anyone - my great grandfather actually sued the government over the Volstead Act!!!). There are very few items from the Abbey still in the family, but one is a beer scraper I have. I would LOVE to get one of those cars!!!

Ah yes, Slainte. Grand family story!

The Beverwyck steel sided reefer is MTH Premier 20-94203 released in 2008. There are 2 road numbers. I found this one at York, but I see them now and again on eBay.

There is a short but interesting story on Wikipedia about Beverwyck that refers to their own prohibition story (survival) just up the road in Albany. Evidently they produced the Irish ale from 1933 to 1950 when they were sold.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day. I try to read Saint Patrick's Breastplate before dipping into Guinness or John Powers. I have to preserve the real meaning of the day after all.

Oh, I forgot these, this is a prewar Lionel 2719 with a paper side that was created based off a scan of the old Bing beer reefers from the 1910's....

My Baltimore based brews. With all due respect to Atlas’ two recently produced Natty Boh releases, they take a back seat to Paul Strickland’s original design.

I did the Stooge car and Rusty Rail car. Dogfish was done by Williams

Pardon my repeated postings of my new beer reefers, but when I see a new reply on this thread, I just can't help it.

We have outstanding vendors to choose from among our Forum Sponsors. I have had nothing but positive experiences purchasing from numerous ones over the years.

One week ago I asked one of my Forum friends, Bryce Manz, where he would go to purchase a new  Atlas Schlitz beer car I saw an advertisement for in a recent model train magazine. He said he would order one from Beth of Public Delivery Track.

I searched for that vendor on our Forum Sponsor Index and, lo and behold, I found that vendor there.

Beth is extremely responsive. I emailed Public Delivery Track, located in California, to make an inquiry about that reefer last Sunday at about 9:30 PM hoping to get a reply in a day or two. Instead, I got a reply email from Beth in 1 hour answering my question. Then, I ordered on-line the Atlas O Gauge (3 rail) Schlitz beer reefer and the Atlas O Gauge (3 rail) Schaeffer beer reefer. In the wee hours of the morning, I got an email from Beth stating that the shipping label had been made. On Wednesday, I was delighted to receive at my home in New York a box containing both reefers.

Beth, you are awesome.

Thats not just a Rheingold Reefer   Its a Gablinger beer  The countries First Light beer  It evolved into Miller Lite  Notice also that Liebmann breweries is gone and it is Forest brewing  The Pepsi generation

Back in the late 60s/early 70s when we were in college in northern PA (Mansfield State College, now Mansfield University) my then girlfriend (now wife) and I had a favorite restaurant in Elmira, NY: Moretti's, a wonderful Italian restaurant. Years later, I saw this K Line car and just knew I had to have it. I did try Moretti Beer once at the restaurant (drinking age in NY was 18 in those days); it was terrible.

Good Evening Everyone,

A little late to the party but health issues have been getting in the way of fun.

First is a Crown Models Rolling Rock 40' wood reefer that was only sold at the Latrobe Brewery company store back around 2004.

Next is an MTH Three Stooges 40' reefer custom done by me a few years ago(can't let Thom-fellow club member- get one up on me)

Last is an Atlas O Tube City Pilsner 36' wood reefer custom painted and decaled by me in the last several weeks.   I completely blew apart the reefer before the paint/decals then reassembled all the detail parts
