When I began with O gauge trains as a youngster, the Great Depression and World War 2 were fresh in people’s memories, and the railroad and modeling magazines were filled with pictures of long trains of boxcars pulled by steam engines. Nowadays, my layouts, model locomotives and rolling stock mostly reflect the era from the 1920s to the 1950s, including the look of the difficult years of the 1930s when hobos and vagrants rode the rails by climbing aboard a boxcar and wandering from town to town. Therefore, I’ve added hobos atop and in the doorways of some boxcars to liven up the scene. A few of them are pictured below. Does anyone else do this? If so, I would like to see your pictures.

Please observe the OGR Terms of Service and post only photographs of your model trains and layouts that you have taken.
