My lone Milwaukee Road. I have always like the Hiawatha colors. This Weaver has had the Mabuchi 550 motor replaced with a Pittman, ERR Cruise M added along with a Lionel Hiawatha Railsounds board.

Tom, those are beauties. I have the tricolor Bipolar but someday want to get the black version. Somehow to me they say Milwaukee Road. My black GE boxcabs made it on the cover of OGR one issue. I had a set of tricolor boxcabs and couldn't afford another set. Then one of the trains shops put the back boxcabs with Rock Island letter on sale. I guess no one wanted them in Rock Island. Got them very cheap, removed the lettering and made them into Milwaukee. Don

Here are some more shots of a JAD Hiawatha, after I upgraded the lighting in the cars and loco to LEDs. This is the only Milwaukee Road equipment in my collection. I'd love to find a set of the Phoenix Hiawatha O-gauge cars someday. 

Brian, I had the Railking Milwaukee Hudson when I first started buying MTH engines. I think that Hiawatha was one of the best looking Railking locomotives they ever made. Ended up selling it when I switched to scale. Don

Some Milwaukee Road items from Lionel (F3, Northern), Weaver (Baltic), MTH SW-1), and K-line (Chippewa). The rolling stock is Atlas, Lionel, and Weaver (I think). The switcher is heading up the "roller coaster" to service the homasote  flats breweries.

Beautiful models here. Here are mine, Key Model E6 and Atlas O Sw-12000...

Ebay. Small plastic birds come in 2 sizes. Gy26075 And  gy26050 they come unpainted but a little dark color on the wings a yellow beakand your good to go

I am a little late to the party, all so far is freight equipment. I would like to add some passenger equipment but that will have to be home brew.

MTH Bi-Polar and Phoenix passenger cars.

My wife bought this Lionel Standard O Boxcar for Christmas this year its one of my favorites 

MTH Milwaukee Pacific with Menards Trains rolling stock.

The loco is an original Lionel that was converted to outside 3rd rail a long time ago. When I bought it it was all apart and the paint was chipped and was very dark from a very thick coat of shellac. The conversion was done with a purpose built chassis with very detailed rods and valve gear. The only Lionel parts that were used are the boiler and tender bodies, everything else was replaced. I put a center rail pickup on the loco and tender. It runs quite well on 072 Fastrack. There is also a pretty well detailed cab interior. I am assuming that this was done with a conversion kit that was available in the 1940s. If anyone has any information on this please let me know.

The passenger cars are original 1930s Walthers built kits that I had collected over the years. They were all in horrible shape. Most of them had scratch built interiors in them. I added interiors to the cars that did not have anything inside.  I restored them a few years ago and put K-line trucks on them.

Any of you OGR railroaders have a model of Milwaukee Road U25B 5057?  It is currently being restored to be placed on display in fromt of the Cle Elum, WA depot by the Cascade Rail Foundation.  Check'em out at www.milwelectric.org 

When fully restored, 5057 will be one mean clean machine for sure!

Wow!   I looked at the photo and said to myself "Nice prototype photo."  I never imagined it was a model until I saw Paul's comments above. I still didn't believe it and I had to enlarge the photo.  The only giveaway was not the model.  It was the figure on the right.

Scale Rail: Your little freelanced electric looks like something right off Bob Hegge's Two Rail O scale Crooked Mountain Lines. 

Wonder why Bob (RIP) didn't construct the CML to 1/4" fine scale standards?  He was a master builder, using Code 100 rail on the layout and after removing the overhead on the island terminal laid third rail in it's place.

Any Crooked Mountain Lines fans here besides me?  Let's hear from you!  Better yet, are there any O gaugers who have built a layout using the CML plan modified to fit their needs?

Item: Oh yes, how silly of me, I almost forgot.  I'm a big fan of the Milwaukee Road Little Joes!  Love the cut off buffer plates on the pilots.  Cool!

Great photos 👍👍 I'm running with 0-42 curves - what's the tightest curve you've been able to get a Bi-Polar around?

My MTH Bi-Polars are  A-OK on 072 but do not like 061, they bind on the 061 curves to a point that they struggle to get through with a heavy load. I run them on just my 072 main lines.

I bought this on eBay a while ago. It was advertised as a partially finished prototype built by Glenn Guerra of Mullet River models. As you can see it needed some help to straighten it. I had to build a frame and floor. The ladders are from a Lionel bay window caboose. I added some interior details from Scale City Designs and LED lighting. The trucks and pickups are vintage Walthers. Decals are Champ.

I recently purchased 2 kits from HRM Laser Models. They are highly detailed craftsman type wood kits. I have the Freight House built and am starting on the depot. Shipping was very fast and I highly recommend this supplier. He also has a coaling tower and handcar shed available in O scale.

Neither prototypical nor O scale, but this HO GG1 is sorta fun!

American Flyer never made a Milwaukee Road streamline passenger set but I was able to purchase some AM F-units and AF cars painted in Milw. Rd. colors. Be gentle, the cars are not prototypical but the paint scheme is very nice.

I finally found a set of Phoenix Railways Hiawatha cars. Here they are behind a Pride Lines steamer. It's not a perfect color match, but pretty close.

These are no comparison to the nice models being shown here but it is all my MR except one boxcar I can’t find.  The NW2 is an All nation that runs smooth as silk, the reefer is Atlas and I built the caboose. I have yet to weather the loco.

I have just pulled out my caboose book , to order supplies to make 3 of these , this is the most common style they should have been making in O . great job on all of them.

I would have made it the lead unit!

Yes, they are MTH engines, lead unit is powered, 2nd Milwaukee engine is a dummy (or non powered) and the Western Maryland is also a dummy.

There must be some kind of e-mail glitch, Scott at HRM has always been very fast to respond.

Well, I saw the topic and I thought I'd pull our Lionel Milwaukee Road #261 out of the glass display cabinet and have it pull our Christmas consist.  It's not pulling passenger car set you'd expect to see (those are in the boxes right now) but the focus is on #261.  Even without the passenger cars it's a blast to run our only Milwaukee Road engine (love the sound and the steam chest cylinder effect)!

- I'm sure the vehicles don't match the era, but our layout has whatever the kids (big or small ) like to have on the layout.

The Milwaukee Road was big in Tacoma and I have a lot of their equipment in my collection.  Below is the #1933573 Milwaukee Road Legacy Bipolar #E-3, that Lionel produced in 2019.  It runs nicely on my 054 curves.  Its pulling Lionel Milwaukee Road "baby madison" passenger cars from 1974.  I changed the couplers that were not operational to ones that were operational and rewired the trucks so there was pickups on both sets of trucks for better lighting.

Getting the roofs off is tricky on the Baby Madison" cars.  Here is a thread on tte topic.

Tacoma's new Amtrak Station is basically a homage to the Milwaukee Road.  Its its located on property that is called the "Freighthouse" which was formerly owned by the Milwaukee Road.  It sits alongside where the old Milwaukee Road Passenger Station used to be.

Below is a model of the Milwaukee Road train station in Tacoma.  The model is located on an HO layout that is in the Washington State History Museum ithat is housed in a building that is next to Union Station, and built in the same style.   

The crew managing the layout were super helpful in letting me get close up to take this picture.
