I wasn't looking for disgruntle I was trying to find answers to why what both of you said make sense but to me still is why another system and why is that all you can buy I guess my biggest gripe if you want to call it that is your given no real other choice we use to have some nice conventional sets coming out for $ 400 - $700 we had some nice no track TMCC/Legacy sets coming out $500 - $900 I just don't need another operating system when I had one that was working fine I was thinking of upgrading to legacy but why I can't afford basically what is now coming out in legacy. I guess I do need to give a fair look at the stuff coming out but what do I do with all my TMCC engines now lol just run them in conventional ?

This is why I asked this not to really bad mouth it as it probably sounded but you did notice I asked am I missing something here first off. I guess I may look at a Cab1L to take care of my Legacy/TMCC engines when I get my layout built again and in the mean time look closer at your all's lionchief plus as I do know from hearing conversations that even thou at first they said it would , it won't lionchief will not run in conventional only the plus will.

Bill, please, please, please.... sentences - spaces and punctuation.   We would all understand you better.

This thread has been a fabulous read for me.  I am in the process of working on a temporary layout (been a year now!) with a mix of modern TMCC diesels and quite old PW locos.  Still reviving some PW operating accessories.  Goal is to be sure certain accessories and motorized units are accessible for 4 grandkids (6yrs to 6mos) to operate while certain sensitive items are out of reach.  Will soon take it all down for the permanent layout.  I was thinking about replacing some of the locos (will never replace my first 2026 set, which still runs like a charm), with LC+ locos.  Looked over a few Lionel catalogs, and some LC+ locos seem very impressive (I have a Pennsylvania theme and I saw a Pennsy Mikado that might work.)  I seem to recall favorable reviews of this system in recent issues of ORG magazine.  This thread convinces me that for the kids, this is the way to go.  Thanks much.

Michael

That may be my problem, Seriously never having kids I really don't look at it in that aspect ( grand kids) this old timer ( not really but getting there quick 62 next month) look at these as my enjoyment so with that and listening to you all I'am seeing the light as how good of a product this really is. in fact ( I hope not ) but should I end up in a nursing home ( now days called a adult care center ) this would be the perfect train set for that. You all have opened my eyes to the advantage to these a lot and I appreciate that, that is why I started this as wanted to see what I was not understanding I knew all you could not be wrong and little ole me the only one correct lol. There had to be more to it. I can see where there is room for improvement ( Lionchief Plus in sets ) and sure there is other things but this is a good start they have done. But again when we got starter sets before hand they didn't have tmcc in them either we wanted that we had to move up to premium sets normally without track or  transformer so that may be the thought for sets with lionchief plus who knows other than Lionel but as stated this has been a good thread for me to learn a lot of things I was closed eyed about 2 days ago

Thanks again guys I appreciated the feedback.

Yes I need to learn to do that. I have a bad habit of just keeping the sentence going. Don't know what got me doing that either. Will try working on that. Guess that is what Kooljock was talking about.
