hi,I have a lionel 027 2036 2-6-4 with 6466w tender.ive been told that this train has a smoke feature to it?Looking down the smoke stack area all i see is a light bulb.what would this part look like?(smoke unit) And would it be in a pellet form or liquid.
I think the smoke unit was removed from the past owner.No idea what it looks like,or what i need to get it running smoke again. thank u

No smoke on the 2036.
It is surprisingly difficult to add an original smoke unit as you need to replace the entire steam chest as well as secure all of the usual smoke parts.
The more economical option is to sell the 2036 and buy a 2037.

I have a 2036. It has a headlight, whistle and magnatraction. The 2037 has all of these plus a smoke unit.
You really can't put a smoke unit in a 2036. The chassis has not been molded to fit all of the moving parts of the smoke unit.
