Glad to see Lionel officially clarifying that this is NOT a tinplate offering.  Most of didn't think it was, but suffice it to say the ambiguity in the original catalog was spurring lots of "imagination" that perhaps it was.  Now it's official.

Hhhmmmmm..... not too sure about the wordsmithing on this one.    Perhaps "attractive pricing" would have been more appropriate.

Thanks for the updates, Charlie!

No mention of the Angela Trotta Thomas Aquarium car claiming it will have a motor and interior lighting, after recent items cataloged as such did not?

With those recent "downgrades" with no price "downgrade", Lionel must appreciate the need to clarify that it's not just an "error" stating it will have features it will not.

Considering the ATT Aquarium car is only $5 more than the re-run of the 2016 Christmas Aquarium car (which was corrected in the new catalog to say it's just a gear and not illuminated - as it was delivered), I have great difficulty believing the ATT model will be  a motor and also lit for $5.  (I can easily see the $5 being for licensing)

If I'm just a pessimist and it will be motor driven and also lit, that is GREAT!  Lionel NEEDS to clearly specify though, considering the feature misrepresentation for the similar items last year.

In a Lionel Gram to their dealers, Lionel did say that the new aquarium cars will be motorized and illuminated.  Here I quote:

"UPDATE: New aquarium cars have returned to being illuminated and motor operated!"

Thanks, Stu.

That's great news.  I had not seen that bulletin, but in fairness I didn't ask my dealer either, I just reviewed the list above, hoping the mention would be in there.

Of all the things Lionel has been accused of, "Cheap pricing" isn't one of them.

Thanks for the info, Charlie. I received this info from Lionel in response to an inquiry regarding the road numbers of the six LionScale GN 4-Bay ACF "Grain Loading" hoppers:

3-17141 - #171350
3-17142 - #171366
3-17143 - #171382
3-17144 - #171395
3-17145 - #171401
3-17146 - #171447

These are different numbers than the runs Weaver previously offered, which were 171256, 171254, 171262, 171252, 171259, & 171264.  (There are many home-painted versions of these cars in existence, too, of varying quality and road numbers. In the 1980's one could get the unpainted Weaver car, the Floquil "Glacier Green" paint and Champ decals to do it yourself...)   FYI.

It's too bad Lionel chose a pathetic patch color scheme for the Conrail three bay hopper cars. If they did them in Conrail freight car red other the wheel LOGOs, I would have been all in for the six car set. I believe Bekeda Hobby did a special run with Weaver, only three numbered cars in the Conrail freight car red and wheel logo.
