Can anyone advised as to if the belt in this car is motorized or is it gear driven by the rolling of the car? Outside of the car does not mention but Lionel's website has a parts breakdown listing a motor and a gearbox. Hoping it's not just a generic parts list for all aquarium style cars.

Motorized, with and on/off switch.  Nice looking car, but...If you don't already have it, I would pass and look for the MTH Lobster car.  Three things:  1.  the background covers the entire visible area.  2.  the louvered windows give the illusion of enhanced movement of the figures.  3.  The lights are LEDs, brighter, and the sound of the motor is quieter.  I have this one, and two more of different types.  The MTH aquarium cars are far superior in my opinion.

Thanks, Jerry, for the info and advise. I may check out the MTH car. Would you know the model number?
