Todd, there should be a Thumb screw in the middle of the roof. If it is stuck, use some pliers to loosen, but cover with a cloth or leather so you don’t scratch the paint.

Big thanks John.  That explains a lot.  I could see the threads to the screw from under the roof, but the screw itself wouldn’t budge.  I suspected I was missing something because the later cars have a groove for a screwdriver.  Going to give it a try later tonight.
