I wondered if anyone has experience with Norfolk Southern heritage units the Lionel #s are 6-38251 and 6-38248. just looking for something to operate. Maybe be better to spend additional money for LionChief locomotives. I sold my 66 year accumulation of trains in August and have been given permission to have operating layout for Christmas!! Please note the Avatar is our money pit!!

First, welcome to the Forum.

It depends on just how extensive your Christmas layout will be. If it is an under the tree layout with Christmas related accessories, a LionChief set may be your best choice.
