Hello folks, I just got one of the new Legacy Camelback locomotives and noticed that when I turn the bell off using my Legacy remote, a crackling noise comes from the speaker. Any ideas on how I could fix this or should I just send it in for repair?

My does the same thing but typically goes away. I call it the engine having seizures. Make sure your track and rollers are nice and see if that helps.

I also have the same oddity with my CNJ camelback. Will there be a possible remedy?
That is very strange. Mine is similar in that it's just the one bell version (my favorite of course) and not all the time.
Same with my CNJ Camelback. Very irritating sound.
Any word on a fix?
Sent mine into Lionel for repair and they sent it back three weeks later stating the sound board and spreader was replaced and advised by engineering that all units do this and can’t be fixed. As long As I reprogram the engine and never change the bell or horn everything works fine. Sad, I really love this option so all my trains sound different. Wish they would recall and fix the sound card.
