I recently purchased a 6-2308 Newsstand and need help getting it to operate consistently. It appears to be complete with a good box and with operating instructions. The Drive Line (string) comes off the pulley. Because of parts located above the pulley, it is a lot of work to wind the drive line the 1 1/2 turns on the pulley. The drive line appears to be original with brass parts on both ends. The spring does not appear to be stretched out but is much smaller in wire size and turn size than similar springs on other accessories that use a vibrating coil.
Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you fix it? Would a new spring solve my problem?
Where can I find repair information on "POST" Post War accessories (Would this be considered "modern"?) I found a parts diagram and the 70-2308-250 operating instructions but they did not help me fix my problem.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. There has to be someone who has one of these.
Thanks
