Lionel Reading GP -30 Rear Light Problem

I have a Lionel Reading GP 30 it has TMCC, but I was running it in conventional. I placed the battery back up in the rear of the engine and now the rear LED headight is not working. When I placed a small amount of pressure on it with my finger the light would turn on. There is very little room in the shell to see what is going on. Any suggestions on how to repair the light?
