Lionel Shipping Question

Don't worry it you will recieve it eventually. It's normal for Lionel and MTH trains to get released after the target date with production in China, customs etc. I recieved trains several months late from MTH.

IMO, this is what it should say next to every line on the MTH, Lionel and Atlas shipping schedules.

The last time I looked at the Shipping Schedule (sometime last week) there were quite a few items marked as ‘June’ shipping that had yet to ship.  So, unfortunately,  you’re in good company.  

I used to watch the schedule fairly closely, but have become comfortable with the “it’ll get here when it gets here” routine. 

I also asked on their facebook page when the shipping date still said last updated june and was told within two week things would ship.

the only thing Lionel did was change the date to 7-12-2013. 

there are over 100 items from june 2013 not shipped. 

yet we keep being told, in video and on-line interviews that they got a handle on the issues with china since having someone from lionel live there.

guess not!!

Lionel Shipping Schedule:

A hopeful date for the distribution of product determined by someone with a spreadsheet and a need for an answer for the stakeholders and officers question: "Where are we with this year's plan?"

Thanks guys. I thought Lionel had these problems fixed, and that's why I was starting to get nervous. I guess I will just sit back, relax, and run other trains while I wait.

Maybe this means that they will even come all at once. It made no sense to me that the add-on car was supposed to ship a month before the set!

I do not understand Lionels shipping schedule.  They do not list the SD40 locomotives on their website that are from the latest catalog.  I received one already but they have not shipped the 2nd number.  Neither one shows up on the shipping schedule.  Am I missing something here? (Other than the engine I do not have)

I believe someone mentioned in another post that Lionel is removing items when they are shipped rather than marking them shipped.

That's correct. They followed that practice for the 2012 catalog items. And maybe even before that?

Worst decision that could have been made.  Very confusing... Completely counter-intuitive... And doesn't help sales one iota -- not to mention that the list itself is a complete joke, considering it's a customer-facing document.

Most of us know by now that shipping dates don't mean much. It's more like a target date than actual.  I preorder something I want for sure then just let it go till I get a phone call that it has arrived. Could be months could be next year. Nothing new about it.
