Hi, does anyone know how to eliminate the chuff sound on a locosound equipped loco, but still be able to keep the bell and whistle sound?

What's wrong Clifford, don't like that "Box-O-Rox" sound 
I replaced my old 2-8-0 Locosound with PS2 and she sounds way better.
My RS3 with Locosound didn't sound so bad actually, but since then I've installed the ERR Cruise Commander and Railsounds Commanders and have retired both Locosounds electronics to the parts bin.
Oh...no I don't know how to cut out the chuff sound, maybe gunrunnerjohn or GGG will lend assistance soon.
LocoSounds uses a combination of control and alleged sounds. The board handles reverse, speed control, and "sounds". You can disable speed control and you can turn off the sounds by adjusting the volume pot.
No switch to turn off the chuff, you can turn down the volume as Chuck mentions and mute all the sounds.

That board does not do what you state, or what the poster asked about. That is for a TMCC set up, not MTH Locosounds. G
You could try removing the gray wire from the 7 pin connector that feeds the tach. Make sure you insulate the end. This will remove chuff, but also impact speed control and smoke when in motion.
So if you don't use smoke and are ok with no speed control, that should get ride of the chuff. G
