I found huge totes of used track for $5-10 at train shows/swap meets. I have dismantled the track fir the ties. Clean off rust and paint then you will be set. Not sure how many train shows you have in your area so it may take 2-3 months. In so cal tubular track is dirt cheap, and rusty they give away for free. Good luck in your quest,

Bob

Thanks Bob, unfortunately they are few and far between. There are 3 once a year about about one month apart, and anywhere from 30-90 minutes away. The one good thing was I had the pleasure of meeting Steve Eastman and Captaincog. 😁🚂🚋

I was suppose to go to norcal with them, but my wife had health issues. I can keep an eye out for free/cheap track and dismantle the ties. I could stuff it in a flat rate box. The only problem is it might take till june/july to accumulate enough ties. You will still need to order insulators. I think kirk has those.  Steve, Jeff, and I could keep an eye out. Ill see Steve tomorrow, and I talk to Jeff often. Let me know.
