Not currently in 0-Gauge, but I do have quite a collection of British OO trains. And as I come from the south coast of England, it has to be the 'Southern' or BR(SR) trains that I grew up with.

I still have happy childhood memories of the Bluebell Line and the Watercress Line - must make a trip back to see them!

I've gotten excited over all five of my engines (including my "starter set" 4-4-2, which I specifically wanted my first starter set to have), but the one that really blew me away was seeing my MTH Dreyfuss Hudson at a local train show.  As it was one of the core locomotive classes that epitomized the direction I wanted to go in O gauge, I had to buy it.  Alongside my GWR Hall Class 4-6-0, it's the focal point of my fleet.

Since 68 years ago it probably made me the blithering trainaholic that I now am, I will claim Dad's 1835E (and the two-tone blue passenger cars comprising his 366W set) as the engine that was, indeed, "Love at first sight".  Once it emerged from the Electrolux storage box and hit the circle of track around the balsam Christmas tree, I was hooked.

Oh, sure, there have been some gorgeous model ferroequines and sleek, iconic diesel dazzlers...in all scales...since then, but that beastie (I still have it...enshrined) can truly be 'blamed' for my  participation in this great hobby.

That's what 'love' will do, of course.

I love all trains but the one set that really got my attention was the Virginian SD-18

power and Dummy set.  They are are not prototypical or scale but since I'm still a

"Toy Train" operator I don't mind.  They have one of the most beautiful paint jobs

I've ever seen.  One thing I have always liked about Fundimensions-Lionel is the

pretty paint jobs.  When my wife saw the Blue Comet, she had to have it just to look at.

Pacifc Fast Mail's HO Frisco Russian decapod.

The first time I saw one was on the back of a Railroad Model Craftsman back in the 60's.  I liked the looks of the loco, but the hook was the alleged quote from a Frisco yardmaster: "These things will drag everything out of the yard including the yard office!"

With advertising like that, how could you not love it?

Finally got one many, many, many years later and I still prefer it over Bachmann's HO version.

To date,

I would have to say the 3rd Rail C&O Greenbrier my wife bought for me in 2008 as an Anniversary gift. While I had suggested it or the MTH Reading T-1, I never really expected to receive one. The ad pictures impressed me, the item stunned me!

Maybe she'll surprise me with the T-1 in the future!

hello guys and gals..........

Its always been the Santa Fe #5011 Texan.  I had at least 3 PFM H.O. brass models (2 were unpainted and one painted) back very late 70's.  I bought them used but fast forward to last Dec 2012 when got the Sunset 3rd rail version, that one was love the first and last sight for sure and just looking at it just makes me go wow. Those Santa Fe engines are handsome looking.  Am I the only female trainaholic here?
