I was just looking on eBay at O scale buildings.  I am seeing plenty of buildings from Menards like the just released Morton Salt factory, which by the way is only $99.00 on the Menards web site.  On eBay the Salt Factory is well over $100.00 as is the American Power & Light building.  Are people buying these things and reselling them?

The only way for an overseas buyer can get a Menards building is through ebay as far as I know.

Now what you guys don't see is the shipping to Australia.

It varies from 50 to 101 US Dollars! so if I bought, say the power and light building it could cost up to US$300 shipped to my door! That's nearly 400 Aust dollars!! a lot of money. By comparison I can buy an Atlas SW locomotive (old version ) brand new shipped to my door for A$500 if I win the auction on ebay and I have done that three times in the last couple of months. So who is making money, ebay is great I love it, but you don't rush in buying on ebay you do your research and stick to a limit price otherwise your tossing money away. I always watch shipping costs some are good some are very bad.

I'm not buying any Menards buildings but I like to look at them for maybe ideas. Roo.

This has been brought up a few times. And the bottom line ( except those out of the country because they have no choice) the sellers on ebay are looking for suckers and that's what the one's who buy here in the states are, as from what I have seen they do say xxxx from Menards.  People don't bother to see what Menards is. Like ROO said do your research before you buy from someone.

Menards won't ship out of the country so unless you find someone just trying to get rid of something like a building you like, Ebay is your only answer and they add at least 50% if not 75% to the actual cost.

To me thou the sellers know the buildings are very compatible to other companies that sell for about twice the price so they figure they can get it.

I feel for you that are not here and can't get Menards to ship to you. I see the scalping all the time on Ebay and just figure there looking to take advantage of some one ( which they are). Never thought about the ones over seas that can't get stuff from menards.
