For me to take a road trip

To San Diego.

I can visit John

And the gang at the Model

Railroad Museum.

Should bring the scale-wheeled

Equipment with proto-3.

Run on both layouts.

I forgot to do

So I must fix that
To be back in good graces
Then all will be well

running in "super".

DCS is fixed

Someone cross-wired the power

In the staging room.

Out-of-phase voltage

leaked out into the main room

With a track signal.

Wasn't enough to cause

Any circuit breakers to trip

Killed track signal, though.

Glad I started work

At the Southern area

Instead of the North.

Guests visit train room

"Your layout, how much you spend?" 

Answer?  "Not enough!"

Model railroading.

Model railroaders

aren't all nerdy middle-aged

overgrown children.

I however am

A nerdy middle-aged man

and overgrown kid.

We are never done

Always one more thing to do

It's called a hobby

My wife helps with trains

It's not a hobby for her

It's her love for me

The spirit of the great Chief

Looks down from the sky

As Number 3 runs 60 MPH across the racetrack

Where the Chief ran 100 MPH

The Chief's tears rain down upon the train

Oh I am so slow

At completing my layout

Where's the drive, the urge

Languishing in the noggin.
