Well, I have a little experience with MVs. If anyone ever has questions on military vehicles, you're welcome to contact me directly. Here I am behind the wheel of my 1:1 scale toy-
As for vehicles, nobody makes a good GCCW (2 1/2 ton truck) in 1:48 scale. I model 1943, so I had to have closed-cab GMCs as the open cabs weren't really seen much yet. The best you can hope for is 1:50 scale. I'd suggest the Solido trucks, but repainted as the shade of OD is totally wrong. Here's what I did with three of them (the one to the far right was a French firetruck and it required a lot of modification):
As for Jeeps, here are some things you want to be aware of for stateside vehicles in WW2:
- No stars with white borders, that was used in Europe only once the US Army got to working alongside the Brits and Canadians
- No tire pressire markings in the wheelwells, that started long after WW2
- Hood markings were actually in light blue letters and numbers at first, only later done in white
I have a Tamiya Jeep model I've never built, along with a diecast Jeep that has a broken windshield pivot but is a good model anyway. If you're interested, drop me line directly. I bought several scale military vehicles and I might be looking to get rid of a few as I now think I have too many for my layout...

I think the diecast Jeeps are 1/43, they're bigger than the sides of the Tamaiya MB/GPW kit I have. The problem is a Jeep is so small (it's 11 feet long, FYI), it's hard to get an exact scale from just a ruler.
I also have an M-20 armored car in 1/43 scale if you're interested, they're very uncommon...
My GCCWs aren't fir sale, just showing off what I've done so far.
