I have all modern eq and Was wondering what would be a good average height for clearance to go under another track and what kind of spacing do I need in the curves, straights and in the yards. Thanks

Varies with curve radius and your maximum equipment height and swing out.
Search forum for "track spacing".
My clearance height is 6" from top of track to bottom of bridge or obstruction.
My track spacing is curve center to center 6", and straight center to center 4".
I always try to go no less than a 6" height clearance (top of track to underside of upper object).
As Susan stated, track spacing can vary greatly depending on the curve radius-diameter. The ultimate test is a Big Boy on the inside track and a 21" passenger car (or better yet, a Lionel Autorack) on the outer track.
If you are down in the O72 range, you may need 6" to clear whereas if you are up in the O120 range you could get by with less, like 4.5 or 5.0"
For straightaways, you need to think about if you will have any switches or crossovers. When mating two switches together to make a crossover, you end up with a specific C-T-C spacing and it will be different depending on the switch mfg and size (i.e a #4, #6, #8).
