Can someone explain to a newbie that has a Z4000 and a new TIU on Reserve, how this interacts with a TIU? I have a lot of Lionel Command Switches and primarily post war accessories already on my layout being built (Picture) .
What can these do for me?

Also if these are installed does this replace the normal controls on the accessories?
Daniel, the AIU connects via cable (included) to the TIU. Then each accessory or switch is wired into the AIU and is controlled by the DCS remote. You will also have to include a 10 to 14 volt power supply (from back of Z4000) to power the lights, accessories, etc. The AIU simply acts as an on / off switch for your accessories and also throws the switches. There is a DCS hand book written by a former forum member that explains the wiring.
