Many of you have seen MTH's latest announcement on their new run of F3s....

We have always liked the Bangor & Aroostook F3s...both the early-50's silver/blue (first two pics) and the mid-60s dark blue/silver trucks.

If we were to do a special run, which version would you prefer?

We would run F3As with two road numbers.

Thanks,

Al

These requests would be better with an image or a link to an image of the actual paint scheme being described.

Thanks Al, have wanted some of these for a long time and would hope that the prototype color is very similar to these HO models I posted some years ago. It almost looks like Cadillac's "White Diamond" with a bright luster. Definitely not a plain Silver or a light shade of Gray!

Atlas has the tooling for the converted WW2 troop sleeper cars.  BAR bought some of them surplus and converted them to cabooses.  They were red with yellow ends.  The BAR extended vision caboose that MTH did a while back looks nice, but had no prototype that I am aware of.

And yes, I would be interested in the grey and blue BAR F3s.  A very sharp livery IMO.

So I poked around a bit-in Jerry  Angier's "Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in full color" book on pg.52, he pictures a B&A F3 AB pair -in the two tone gray color with yellow stripes scheme from 1948-and says "While the B&A originally had 4 B units on its roster, it quickly became apparent that they were not suited for northern Maine and were sold to the PRR ". Some B&A diesel rosters don't even list such B units-others do.  I also found a picture of a B&A ABA set waiting at the LaGrange IL site in the same color scheme. So I have to presume that none of the B units were kept around long enough to be repainted in any subsequent B&A paint scheme. So again, sign me up for a dark blue A unit!!  Thoughts from more knowledgeable B&A fans, please.
