Note 1: MTH uses the term "Trainmaster" to describe their model engine. I agree that the prototype was called the "Train Master".
Note 2: MTH apparently used the earlier Lionel engine to make the DLW model and had the Korean manufacturer "copy" it including the Lionel number on the engine. The MTH model retained the "toy like" appearance of the Lionel engine. I recently purchased the 1999 MTH "Dealer" Proto 1 model as a collectors item.
Note 3: The latest Premier "train master" Proto 2 engine from MTH is an entirely newly designed model. It appears to be designed based on accurate prototype dimensions and details.
The H-24-66 was a diesel-electric railway locomotive model produced by Fairbanks-Morse and its Canadian licensee, the Canadian Locomotive Company. These six-axle hood unit road switchers, known as Train Masters were deployed in the United States and Canada during the 1950s.
