I have several of their diesels, just not that exact latest one. I really like the sound quality and how good they run. Two of my longest consists are lead by that model.

I have the older PS2 BNSF ES44DC leading one, and the newer with PS3 CSX leading the other. They are one of the best values for quality vs. price out there.

I've also got the NP ES44s, and the presidential CSX.

I think you will like the striking look of that BNSF. The paint quality alone, is worth the price.

My BNSF version just came in a week ago. Unfortunately I have no way to run mine right now (recently moved) so it hasn't been out of the box. I can say it is very nice, my LHS got one also and had it out on display when I was picking mine up. Looked real nice!

I have a few others, MTH GEVO, MTHRRC version and MTH dealer appreciation model, all are PS3 and they are very nice. The GEVO sound is a little tinny to me (my first one), but MTHRRC model sounds much better (I have run both of these), haven't run the dealer appreciation model yet. Hope to be running them sometime in Jan.  Can't imagine this one being any different than the others. I would say go for it!

In my opinion the new ES44AC is another quality piece from MTH and highly recommend the P3 version over the P2 version. I bought the MTH CSX ES44AC a few weeks ago.  I also own a P2 ES44AC.  In comparison, the P3 version sounds better with crisper sounds and a better sounding horn.  The LED lighting is an improvement as well.

One thing to warn you about is the Prototypical Rule 17 Lighting which is the P3, but I'm not aware of this feature in P2 engines.  I had no idea of how the lighting feature worked. Just like the prototypes, when the engine is not moving, the headlight dims and the ditch lights do not come on until he engine is in forward motion.  At first, when I turned the ditch lights on from the DCS controller and they were not coming on, I thought that I had faulty ditch lights.  However, when I accelerated they promptly turned on just like they were supposed to. Whew!
