Got my second PS3 engine a few mins ago. Primed the smoke unit and fired it up for a couple of laps around the track. Sweet............................. Sound on this unit is even better than my PS3 F3. And I love the smoke output of the MTH units. Just like my MTH AS616, Smokes Like a Freight Train, to use a phrase. For the moment all the DCS TIU Nightmare is gone. Later I'll have to play seriously. I did run a conv Lionel GP20 and my F3 on the same track last night for a few mins. With a 4x8 and one running conv and one running in command mode, it gets interesting really quick. And I only had the engines on the track. So tonite I can run 2 command engines.

Here's a pic of the unit I purchased.

I picked up the B&O GP9 PS3 when they first came out. Gotta agree with you on the sounds, they are much improved over the PS2 version. I run mine in a MU (got that Rich, MU, not lash up, I'm learning!) with a dummy in the middle, and the PS2 bringing up the rear. No problems yet, knock on wood, with the PS3. And best of all, MTH got the engineer facing long nose forward like B&O ran them!

Yes I noticed that with the engineer. I wouldn't know what would be prototypical with a particular road, but I, personally, just like the look of the long hood forward. And I do know that some ran em that way to offer the crew more protection.
