Forgot to post that. Was at the Astros baseball game when I posted topic.

Make sure you send it to a MTH service center that will do Warranty repairs without charging you labor.  For the LHS that I do MTH service for labor isn't charged if you purchased it from the LHS that I do work for.  MTH only provides the parts, not pay us for the labor.  Just keep that in mind.  I've had several folks get mad at me that bought online or Ebay, but working for free isn't a good business model!

Read that MTH warranty carefully and you will see this situation is spelled out.

Not sure I follow you to a point.. but its past my bed time... I didn't go the ebay route. I bought my engine new at LHS, and they carry full line of MTH, but dont show up as a service center on the list.  Closest service center is either San Antonio, or Angleton, TX. 

Im looking at the exploded parts view. Not much under the hood. I don't see anything that represents a fuse... unless its built onto the main board. And if my problem is within that part... thats half the cost of the loco... wow.

MACB4... it took me a bit, but I did find Richards page and sent him a message. Now I just wait to see who gets back to me.

Buffalo.. i did a search on railtronix. For me, it was a local company, but in the logistics side of rail lines. Other links send me to fat burning sites.

This could be a very simple thing.  The 3/2-Rail switch is a very troublesome item on these, and I've had a number that had either unsoldered wires or the cheap switch has simply come apart and rendered the locomotive dead.

First step is to toggle that switch between 2-rail and 3-rail a couple of times, making sure it ends up in 3-rail.  Then try firing it up again, you may be surprised.

Thanks for all the inputs. I did try and toggle the switch from 2 to 3 rail as you mentioned. Engine still remained off.

Looks like ill be running the old loco with 3 cars for a few weeks after I give MTH a call and get this engine in for repairs.
