MTH New Haven EP5

I posted this question on the MTH Forum with no response. I thought I would try the wider audience here. I have an MTH Premier New Haven EP5 with retractable pantographs. One of the pantographs has ceased to completely retract. Is this a common failure? Is it easily repairable? I appreciate comments & suggestions.
