The first time this has ever happened to me. Purchased an old Texas Special Alco ABA. Sold to me as never run, so I opened her up to make sure there was no white battery. Found the battery had been replaced.  put on the track, conventional controller ..ding ding she revved up, pulled her out of neutral, and after about two feet the horn sounded. Thought this might be a feature...but the horn won't stop.

Any suggestions?

I had a conventional unit that would do that during my floor-layout days. Bugged me to no end till I took off the shell and found one of the motor leads touching the flywheel with a rubbed-off bit of insulation exposing the bare wire--the DC being fed to the motor was getting someplace it shouldn't and triggered the horn anytime the unit moved. Repositioning the wire and coating the breach with hot glue fixed that problem. Might be something to look for.

Could you guide me through this with a conventional controller?
