After reading all the horror stories I decided to open up the box and see what I had. I used the Fasttrack supplied. It is my first experience with it and even though it worked OK, I'll take S-trax any day over it. I used the wall wart (described as "Powerfull" on the box) but never will again since it is barely capable without cars and Lionel will never get anyone to buy Ready to Run sets with it if that is their plan. I had all the problems previously mentioned in other posts about the train stopping and resetting itself. That said. the locomotive performed flawlessly. Not crazy about only 2 chuffs per revolution but this is the price point and it's a fantasy train anyway. I hooked up the 4 cars (did not purchase the baggage) and it ran great, no problem unless I pushed the limitations of the wall wart on speed. Yes my observation has the steps to nowhere as mentioned in Jerry's post. None of the cars had inside roof paint issues as has been previously mentioned. My questions to you are:

1) Are there really no silhouettes in the observation except the last seat on each side?

2) Are there really no silhouettes in the Abandoned Toy Car?

3) What's with the bell ornament included?

All in all it will be running around my tree this Christmas.

You haven't seen the movie Rich because then you would know the answer to all three of your questions.  It's a great Christmas film and story.  I won't give you the 3 answers so you will enjoy looking for the "why's" as you watch it.
