Your layout is looking great. It looks like you have plenty of track for interesting and fun operating sessions, yet it doesn't appear crowded. Sometimes progress is slowed or even halted for a while, but personally, I prefer to work on the layout only when I can enjoy the process. I think of model railroading as a lifetime hobby, so there is no real rush to finish. In fact, it took me almost four years to build my small layout. I too, am looking forward to watching your layout being built. I know it will turn out to be one of the great layouts.

It's been a long time since I posted to this thread so I thought I would update it as I will have posts forthcoming of scenery progress on the layout and didn't want this thread to be lost.

At present I just completed the addition of 6 more whisker tracks in my engine service facility.  All wired into my control panel.  I also have been painting the lighting kit for my Roundhouse.  That will be installed in the next several days and then I will wire up a control box for the lights.  Altoona Model works provides a real nice kit to LED light their roundhouses.

Several buildings have been pulled out of storage and are sitting on the layout as assessments are made as to how to lay out the town and several other scenic elements of the layout.  The next pictures I post will show some solid progress to the scenery on the layout.

Hey Charlie, did you get the Red Owl store for your layout?  They were in the UP - I remember the one in Marquette when I lived there in the 70's.

John, I didn't grab this one.  I have the WS IGA that I really like.

I have them both, but don't know if I can use both.  The Red Owl is pretty large.

This project was long overdue.  Installed the LED lighting kit in the roundhouse this weekend.  Very pleased with the results.

My son shot this of his Big Boy pulling in the roundhouse.  He was pretty excited!

Hey MichRR714, is the interior of the roundhouse(cross supports, side step platforms, lighting) all scratch built or is that part of whatever kit it is from?
