Dotty and I started Friday by posting some pictures of an upgraded Hudson belonging to my friend Erol (Locolawyer) Gurcan.  We then drove to New York and visited Gerry and Sue Morlitz.  That night, Gerry and Sue took Dotty and I to visit Ben, Vin, John and the guys at the NJ Hi-Railers.  While there, Our good friend Erol stopped by and spent time running his newly upgraded Hudson on the layout.  This layout is the best place to run any locomotive.  The next morning, Dotty, Erol, Gerry, Sue and myself went to the Croton-Harmon Metro North station and took a great ride along the Hudson River to Grand Central Station.  A trip to remember.  While at Grand Central, we visited all the trains on display and Erol treated us to lunch.  A great train weekend with great friends.  After Grand Central, we returned to run trains on the Morlitz Central.

Hi Marty.  Thanks for putting this up and sharng your wonderful trip with us all!

It was very nice meeting you (finally @ York) and it looks like you did a great job on Erol's Hudson.  When you mentioned this last week I wanted to post this photo but couldn't find it.  At the time we had two K-Line Hudsons and the older MTH No 5344 (on the left in photo). Examining them side by side, I was surprised to find that the MTH model is VERY close in detail to the much vaunted K-Line model. The one I have doesn't run but the headlight comes on so its great for parking on a siding as below. I may blacken the railing in the future but for now, it can really hold it's own with the 'better' models...

right-click for a larger image and you can see the level of detail on this 16 year old piece.

Sam, I do know he goes to the Lionel open house in Ohio.  That is in August.

Alex, Gerry told me you were unable to make it.  We had a great time.  I was present in January and saw many new things.  That layout is the best anywhere on the planet.  Our project we conversed about is underway and I will keep you posted.

I was there today. Thought there may have been less folks today than yesterday based on some of the line lengths reported yesterday. Talked with several of the car owners and they seem very passionate about their hobby. A nice touch was the Centennial Passport book given out. It looks sort of like a US passport and Docnts in each car would stamp your book with the car name.

Some of these cars including Dover Harbor will be moved to Sunnyside via New Rochelle and Hellgate. They are likely to be there Monday .They will await Amtrak trains to take them South through Penn Station.

The Michael Jordan Steak house up on the Mezzanine at GCT proved to be a nice place to celebrate Mothers day with a dinner with MRS Steamer. A great Mushroom Bisque, a wonderful steak with fries and an Ice cream sunday along with a glass of Avalon Cabernet overlooking the main hall . I could do that again.
