Can any of you identify this part, it is on the red power wire coming from the center rail to the board. there is no continuity from the rail to the board, and this is the part that is causing the issue. I tested the continuity and there is none. And it reads 320K ohms.
I am assuming it is burned up, I spoke with Gunnrunner John, he thinks it might be a resistor or a RF choke. But suggested I see if anyone on here has had this problem.

It is most likely a resistor to limit current to the FasTrack switch controller voltage regulator. FasTrack switches run on 5 volts as delivered by the onboard regulator.

I tested another switch I have that works fine.
the component measures 1.7-2.0 ohms. does that seem like that would be right?

It is Lionel's version of a fuse. Overload and it burns up and opens.
So Paul, it is a resistor?
Yes it is, a low wattage, low resistance. AKA Fuse
If the resistance is that low, it's more likely a fusible link, still to protect the voltage regulator from an overload. If it goes open, there may be an underlying issue with the regulator or the switch motor. Test the switch motor with a 4-6 volt battery pack(3 cells would be ideal) and see if it's binding or sluggish in either direction.
