Need help with MTH PS3

I just purchased an MTH center cab Baldwin from a friend on the forum. I only have a ZW conventional transformer. The problem that I have is that it is stuck in reverse. When I power up it takes about 15 sec. to power up and the it starts and shortly there after it begins to move. Is there a way for me to unlock it from reverse only? Thanks in advance.
