The gear for this loco is most likely a metric gear. There is an app on line into which you put the measurements (OD, number of teeth), and it will calculate what gear style it is. Most likely a 'Mod 0.5' or something like that.

I would recommend against 3d printing the gear, the precision is not there, and the materials are generally not that tough. The NorthWest Short line gears will be in brass or steel and well polished and should fit your application. Owner is struggling with wife's cancer right now, so tough to get a rapid response. They make good stuff.

Not true for my printer, maybe the ones you have used. The precision of my 3D laser printer is XYZ 25 microns; that degree of precision is not too shabby. Also my printer prints materials that are isotropic so its pretty darn tough to break.
