Figured I'd pick up one of the new DCS remotes before MTH stopped making them, but now it seems what was supposed to be a March/April release has been pushed back to September? Haven't seen anything official on this, but several dealers now have that as their expected date. No wonder broken old ones are going for more on ebay than they did new...

Seeing MTH is currently closed because of the C-19 situation, September may even be too optimistic.

The supply and distribution chains are going to take some time to get back to normal once the doors are unlocked again.

I think you'll be surprised at how fast the supply and distribution chains get back to normal. It's not like we build anything here anymore. China's already back to work, and South Korea (think brass) never stopped working.

Anyway, who has the best price for for preorder?  Train world has them listed for 185.00 but I don’t know is there’s a shipping charge?

Best I've seen is $170. Of course, that's without shipping, so one place's $170 could cost you  more than another's $175. Google MTH 50-1038 and you should be able to check estimated shipping costs on the sellers' sites.

I know some of my stuff is stuck in China because there's no airplanes flying for DHL to ship it back to the US!  I can only hope that at least freight gets back soon...

I was amazed I got my current meters you spec out as fast as I did for that very reason.

You want to hear something really stupid?  I ordered some other stuff from China the same time my order shipped via DHL, and it came economy air, I have it now, and my $40 shipping order is stuck in China!  Say WHAT?

Hmmmm ... hard to find a MTH DCS unit? Impatient hobbyists don't want to wait until September and want one NOW? I guess that's a signal to sell my rarely-used MTH DCS unit on eBay. I'm a "Lionel Guy" anyway; I don't own any MTH locos now.  I recently hired Gunrunner John to convert my only MTH loco to TMCC so that it would run on my home layout, which is equipped with TMCC through a Command Base (and also a PowerMaster).
