I have found that the new KD "Type-E" couplers do not engage automatically when cars are pushed together, unlike the older style that always coupled without any difficulty and without having to open the knuckles. Have others experienced this same problem, and is there a solution?

I have a few of them installed, and mine seem to couple up fine just like the 805s.
However, they do have a tighter connection and are not as easy to uncouple.
I like the variety of shanks that are available and that works good in special applications.
But I am sticking with 805s for most applications because they seem to work better for my operators.
...and one of the best things about the 805s is that they'll couple to pretty much anything else, which can come in handy.
