You gotta be quicker than that!

You bet.  Otherwise you'll die when they're cast.  That's why they call 'em die cast, I believe.

I have 54 "grey box" MTH die cast cars...mostly box cars and reefers some tankers and a few gondolas.

 

I really like them !

 

Be careful with them in long trains after 7 or 8 cars you will be really tormenting the electronics with amps...I always use 4 motor units to pull long trains or 2 or 3 engines in a MTH lashup.

 

 

What dealer did you get yours from ? I find there getting harder to find.

Oh OK....I bought my first MTH die cast there about 15 years ago and my last one there a few months ago...I do not get down there as much as I used to but back in March I had to go to the NJDOT headquarters on Parkway ave for a training class and stopped in to see Tony on my lunch and picked up a Erie Lackawanna die cast reefer.

 

Most of my postwar collection came from him...I started buying trains from him when he worked out of his basement...that was 31 years ago !
