As most of you who read my posts know, my collection is made up of primarily Railking pieces, with only a very small handful of Lionel and MTH Premier pieces. I'm not one to talk about how great a piece of rolling stock is, but I wanted to share this car I just picked up from Engine House Hobbies. It is a Railking car, but has significant detail with real chains, separate markings, etc.The sides of the containers also have LIRR logos and markings. When I get a moment, I'm going to look at flipping the containers around so the markings face outside. Nice car.

I buy all my engines in "local" roads - B&O, C&O, WM, PRR. Seeing I spend at least part of every summer in the Hamptons on Long Island, I found Dashing Dan to be an appropriate fit.

I've found the most recent Railking rolling stock to hold a significantly higher amount of separately applied detail than pieces of just a few years ago.

I agree the railking container cars are nice and have some awesome details.

I bought one of the cars and really like it.  Although, the little wire container clips on top (both sides) come out easily.  One time I removed the cars from the layout and was wiping them down and putting them back on the track.  Then realized 4 of the wire lift clips we're missing.  I retraced my steps (on my hands and knees) in the room for hours and found 2 of the 4 missing clips. Then weeks later I stepped on something sharp in the carpet and now I'm just one down.

If I ever find the last missing clip I may consider super gluing them in.

Bonner...based on reports, sounds like the show was a very "enjoyable" one...as I've said before, I'm surprised, given the relationship with the Trackers and Boy Scouts the past number of years, it lasted this long.

All, thanks for the kind words. Like I've said, I'm not one to brag about rolling stock but found this to be a nice car. I also noted the chains and links being lost easily when I was looking at the car just after taking it out of the box. Should I ever need to take the containers off, I'll do so carefully. I'd also only handle the car by the trucks not the containers.
