Hello, I just purchased this engine over the weekend, I love it. Does anyone know the model of the smoke unit is? I cleaned it up and it smokes better now but would love to get a better unit for it to make it smoke more. Does anyone have any thoughts? I tried some google searches but came bsck empty.

This is a puffer type smoke unit. The piston is driven off a cam on the front drive axle. To be honest that's pretty good smoke for that vintage engine. I would be happy with it.
It is good especially since its breaking the smoke into three paths to exit the engine. The wick is still around the resistor inside the unit. I’m hesitant to remove it because its a plastic housing, im used to all metal with a plastic cover. Any experience with that?
The only batting inside was an extra wick sitting sadly at the bottom. I removed it and added what batting I had. I have to get more to pack it correctly.
If memory serves me, I left the sleeve on this unit because of how the batting was in it.
